PHOENIX — In a sign of growing desperation for many homeowners facing foreclosures, a new Web site launched called www.savehomewish.com, is offering to "grant a wish" anonymously each month to one troubled case by saving their home.
Given President Bush' promise to veto housing legislation passed by Congress yesterday aimed at saving a half-million homes from foreclosure, chances for the bill's final passage have dimmed considerably. And with government workout efforts limited to an estimated 2,000 loans, foreclosure numbers are expected to only escalate.
The new Web site will save a few homeowners who apply by simply entering basic contact information and selecting the specifics of their wish, including options for catching up a mortgage payment or escaping foreclosure and selling a home. Then, once a month, one homeowner gets rescued.

The site is run by the Arizona Short Sale Office, a firm here specializing in foreclosure help operated by Jamar James, managing member. "We've very much enjoyed working
with SaveHomeWish.com. Our firm's mission is to provide effective foreclosure options to homeowners in distress, so this project fits right into our way of doing things," said James.
