INDIANAPOLIS — Two incumbent Congressmen won elections in theIndiana Primary on Tuesday with support from the Indiana CreditUnion League and the state's credit unions, the leaguereported.

In Indiana's 5th Congressional District Republican Primary,Congressman Dan Burton won by 52% to 45%. According to the league,he thanked credit unions within the first few sentences of hisvictory speech.

“Credit unions had an opportunity to help his campaign in anunusual year when his re-election was not assured, so it was greatto be able to help such a strong credit union supporter,” said JohnMcKenzie, ICUL president, who attended Burton's election nightgathering.
