LAS VEGAS — For its data processing and network outreach to more than 165 credit unions, CU*Answers is the recipient of NACUSO's 2008 CUSO Innovation and Collaboration award.
CEO Randy Karnes accepted the award along with members of the CUSO's team. Founded more than 35 years ago, Grand Rapids, Mich.-based CU*Answers has grown to contain four subsidiaries–CU*NorthWest, CU*South, eDOC Innovations, and Xtend, Inc.
"CUSOs are starting to step out from behind," Karnes said. "I believe we can build an environment where we might not have all the answers but there are opportunities."

For the second year in a row, Ongoing Operations, LLC, a disaster recovery and business continuity CUSO, was awarded an honorable mention from NACUSO.
Prior to the awards presentation, Dennis Pierce, chairman of the NACUSO board of directors, was recognized for his efforts with the association over the past nine years. Dave Serlo, president of PSCU Financial Services, has been named the new chairman. Serlo had previously served as vice chairman of NACUSO. Pete Snyder of Snyder Consulting Solutions, LLC will succeed him.
Judy Sandberg, senior vice president/strategic direction of Gateway Services Group, LLC, retained her board position of secretary as did Lisa Renner, CEO of CU Holding, LLC, with her role as treasurer.
