LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. — In an effort to further promote financial literacy, Michigan First Credit Union has teamed up with GreenPath Debt Solutions and Wayne State University to host a series of events during Michigan's Money Smart Week, April 20-25.
The goal of Money Smart Week is to enhance the financial well being of Michigan citizens by increasing financial literacy.
Michigan First and partners are working together to help consumers make informed choices about their finances. Events will range from an ID Theft Seminar Lunch and Learn with GreenPath Debt Solutions and Credit Awareness Seminar to a seminar titled Managing Your Money Through Tough Times and Staying Sane, which will include topics on alternatives to rent to own, payday lending, how to avoid money traps, how to manage your credit responsibly and credit restoration.
