ATLANTA — The $2.5 billion Delta Community Credit Union, which continues to increase its presence throughout Georgia, also has a tie to one of Northwest Airline's subsidiaries–Northwest Airlines Cargo.

On its Web site, Delta Community CU lists Northwest Airlines Cargo as one of more than 100 companies in its field of membership. The cargo carrier is considered to be the largest cargo carrier among U.S. combination passenger and cargo airlines, according to Northwest Airlines.

Employees at SkyWest Airlines and its subsidiary, Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Inc., World Airways, North American Airlines and Comair, Inc., a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines are also eligible to join Delta Community CU.

The community-chartered credit union serves ten Georgia counties, nearly 120 companies and more than 165,000 members in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dallas and Salt Lake City.

Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines have announced their plans to merge creating the world's largest airline.
