RIVER WOODS, Ill. — Credit unions with members that hold Discover cards should be aware that the card issuer has launched a Web site to sell its cardholders insurance products.
The Web site offers consumers auto, homeowners and term life insurance, as well as home warranty plans.
The insurance providers included on the site were subjected to an extensive pre-screening process to ensure they best met consumers' needs, Discover said. They offer high quality products, a simplified and convenient quoting process and deliver superior customer service, the card brand added.

"The Discover Insurance Center makes it easier for consumers to shop for and compare various insurance offerings. The comprehensive site provides reliable, quality products from leading providers," said Karin Giffney, vice president of protection products at Discover Financial Services. "In short, we did the homework so consumers don't have to."
Products and services include side-by-side comparison quotes from auto and homeowner's insurance providers. Answer Financial Inc., Discover's preferred provider, enables consumers to compare prices and purchase policies from well-known, high-rated insurance carriers including Esurance, Progressive, Travelers, AIG, Safeco, The Hartford and others. The site will also offer term life insurance through Garden State Life.
