ROANOKE, Va. — After some 36 years Member One Federal CreditUnion CEO Dick Williams is retiring.

As the credit union's first CEO, Williams has helped the creditunion then called Norfolk & Western CU, grow from $2.8 millionin assets serving 1,500 members, to $355 million in assets servingsome 52,500 members. In addition, the credit union staffers havegrown from six to 180 and branch locations now number 15.

The board has recently appointed Frank G. Carter as the newPresident/CEO. Prior to joining Member One FCU, Carter was theSenior Vice President of Tampa, Florida-based Grow FinancialFederal Credit Union, where he managed several of the operationalareas supporting the credit union's 18 branch locations. Carter wasalso responsible for the $1.8 billion credit union's marketing andcommunity involvement, overseeing the development and execution ofa new brand strategy transforming MacDill FCU into GrowFinancial.
