GREEN BAY, Wis. — The U.S. District Court for the EasternDistrict of Wisconsin has announced that District Judge WilliamGriesbach will oversee the case between the $947 million CommunityFirst Credit Union and the Internal Revenue Service.

The CU sued the IRS over the more than $54,000 that it paid infederal taxes on unrelated business income, business income whichthe IRS has suggested is not tied to its core business as a creditunion. On March 13, the U.S. Department of Justice formallyanswered the complaint and the court named Judge Griesbach to thecase yesterday.

The March 19 letter from the court that announced Griesbach'sappointment to the case also announced a scheduling conference callwhich will be held May 9 that will establish a schedule for filingand hearing motions, completing discovery and naming any expertwitnesses.
