SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah League of Credit Unions has named a new head of its communications area, Jim Bennett, who previously headed up his own Salt Lake City marketing firm and is a former campaign advisor to Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).

Bennett, who is the league's new director of communications, succeeds Robert Ahlander who resigned the job at year-end. Ahlander, who had been with the league four years, had long been identified as helping guide various league ad campaigns including "Bob the Credit Union Guy" which has since been licensed to leagues on both coasts.

Bennett, apart from running his own firm, the Bennett Group, has been a consultant for the league. He previously was director of communications for the City of Sandy and vice president of sales and marketing for the Tuacahn Center for the Arts in St. George.
