AUSTIN, Texas — Navy Federal Credit Union has joined the Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association.
In addition, Ray Murphy, information security program manager for the world's largest credit union, has been elected to the credit union technology security consortium's board.
"Due to their size and global presence, Navy Federal has experiences that all credit unions can learn from. Ray's background and experience in information technology is extensive and will help CUISPA continue to bring valuable resources to the membership and credit union industry," said Kelly Dowell, executive director of Austin-based CUISPA.

Murphy has more than 20 years of IT experience at major corporations and at $33 billion Navy Federal his responsibilities include risk assessments, security policy and provider review, and member/employee security awareness and training.
"As part of CUISPA, we are looking forward to working with our fellow credit unions in exchanging information and sharing our experiences to help enhance the service that we provide to the credit union membership," he said.
The four-year-old organization (www.cuispa.org) said its membership now includes 35 of the 50 largest credit unions in the country, as well as more than half of the corporate credit unions and an outreach of more than 1,500 credit union IT professionals.
