MADISON, Wis. — Tim McAlpine, president and chief strategist, Currency Marketing, based in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada and Larissa Walkiw, 2008 Young & Free Spokesperson for Common Wealth Credit Union are slated to debut a session on social media and Web 2.0 at Execu/Summit 2008 held March 2–7 at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Conference Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

McAlpine created the successful “Young & Free” integrated marketing campaign to promote Common Wealth Credit Union's “Young & Free” checking account, aimed at 17-to 25-year-olds. Nineteen-year-old Walkiw writes the “Young & Free” blog at www.youngfreealberta.com about her life and adventures as a spokesperson, while promoting Common Wealth CU acting as a liaison between her generation and the credit union.

In their session, “Engaging Generation Y on their Own Terms,” McAlpine and Walkiw will share the insights they've gained, Web 2.0 “do's and don'ts” and how their program has attracted a new generation of potential credit union members.

Execu/Summit is a unique event offering credit union executives and directors in-depth discussion on the most pressing issues facing the movement. For more information on Execu/Summit, visit cues.org and select conferences.
