RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The contest between two rival credit union-owned ATM networks rolled into Florida last week as CO-OP Financial Services announced that its subsidiary, CO-OP Network, will be available in Walgreen drug stores across the state.
Florida is the headquarters state of Credit Union 24, a rival credit union-owned ATM network whose surcharge free option has drawn a lot of attention by partnering with Cardtronic's Allpoint Network.
CO-OP announced that the deal will see its logo added to 631 machines across the Sunshine state over the next months.

CO-OP Financial CEO Stan Hollen appeared unable to let the announcement go without tweaking his competitor about it.
"We don't want to supply ATMs for the sake of supplying ATMs," Hollen said. "We work with our credit union partners to identify the high-traffic locations where their members regularly conduct business so we can provide ATM access in quality locales. Our members' cardholders have asked for surcharge free ATMs in easily identifiable places they know and trust and this is what we will continue to deliver. Best of all, our members have immediate access to these machines," Hollen added, needling Credit Union 24 further, "No sign-up required."
Credit Union 24 has not commented directly on the move except to say that it welcomes the competition, which ultimately benefits credit union members. Credit Union 24′s surcharge free partnership with Allpoint has grown quickly, the network previously announced.
