WASHINGTON — CUNA held their annual general meeting at the GAC this morning, which featured guest speaker Marie Osmond.

Chairman Allan McMorris started off the meeting by doing an overview of 2007 and some of the things that are ahead for the credit union movement. “The movement is best served when we speak with one voice, one voice on Capitol Hill,” McMorris said.

Treasurer Harriet May stated, “I am happy to report that CUNA ended the fiscal year in a strong financial position.”

President/CEO Dan Mica reflected on some of the high achievements the industry has accomplished over the years. “We have come a long way, 10 years ago there was so much to do and there's still so much to do but I couldn't be more proud. The credit union industry has the brightest future it's ever had,” Mica said.

Head of the Membership Growth Task Force and President/CEO of the Texas Credit Union League Dick Ensweiler reported areas that credit unions need to use to reach out to new members.

Marie Osmond closed out the meeting by thanking the credit union industry for its support of the Children's Miracle Network.
