CALABASAS, Calif. — A series of outages on Thursday led to a three-hour shutdown of Digital Insight's main data center, the company said.

The company said the problems began about 10 a.m. Pacific time when a utility services failure caused a power outage at its primary data center in Westlake Village, which provides online banking services to thousands of credit unions and banks.

The primary backup system that's supposed to maintain a continuous supply of power to the data center also had failed and was being serviced at the time of the outage, the company said.
