SUGAR LAND, Texas -- The $300 million Houston Federal CreditUnion has purchased three stand-alone, shared branching facilitiesfrom Credit Union Resources, Inc., an affiliate of the Texas CreditUnion League that owned them.


Houston FCU spokesman, Tracy Stabenow, said the credit unionplanned to operate the facilities as its own branches as well askeep them open as shared branching outlets.


"We are excited about the opportunity to join forces with theTexas Credit Union Service Centers which will greatly enhance ourability to deliver exceptional service to credit union membersthroughout Houston and nationwide," said Chris Choat, President ofHouston Federal Credit Union.


"The operation of these facilities will continue as they aretoday--serving members from all credit unions affiliated with theCredit Union Service Center network. We are fully focused onimplementing a smooth and seamless integration plan to ensure thatour top priority, credit union members, continue to receive thepersonal and quality service they have known for many years.
