SAN DIEGO — California Coast Credit Union President/CEO Jim McPheters is retiring effective April 1, 2008.

McPheters, who has dedicated more than 35 years to the credit union movement, joined California Coast as its president/CEO in 1986.

The credit union's many accomplishments include earning the Award for Workplace Excellence from Peter Barron Stark & Associates in the years 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. In addition, McPheters' ongoing support of financial education for all ages, helped California Coast receive the top award for financial literacy among California credit unions from the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation in 2007.

Upon McPheters' departure, Senior Vice President Kathy Cady will serve as interim CEO.
