LAKE JACKSON, Texas — TDECU officials have announced that the credit union has merged with THD District 13 Credit Union.
TDECU assumed operations of THD District 13 CU, located in Yaokum, Texas on Jan. 31. THD District 13 CU had $4.7 million in assets. TDECU is one of the largest credit unions in the nation and with the merger has added 1,100 new members and now reports over $1.2 billion in assets.
“TDECU is excited to partner with another Texas credit union that shares our same member-focused service philosophy. During the first quarter of 2008 we will expand our operations in Yoakum by opening a new full-service branch,” said Max Villaronga, TDECU vice president retail delivery. “We are fully committed to expanding our presence in Southwest Texas and plan to open several additional full-service branches throughout the area within the next year.”
The current THD District 13 CU staff will be retained as TDECU employees and in addition new staff has been hired from the local area with plans to expand and grow by adding additional branches. TDECU holds a community charter for seven counties in Southwest Texas.
