JACKSON, Mich. — Jackson residents concerned about identity theft had a chance to shred their confidential documents for free during American 1 Federal Credit Union's Shredfest.
More than 50 people attended the event at the credit union's headquarters where document-shredding company Shred-It, brought its truck and trailer to shred and recycle personal papers.
"We gave everyone a chance to get a fresh start on the New Year," Dave Lawrence, American 1 marketing specialist, said. "Not only did we shred tons of documents safely and securely, but Shred-It made sure it was all recycled, too."
