SAN DIMAS, Calif. & BURLINGTON, Mass. — Financial Service Centers Corporation, one of two nationwide shared branch networks, has announced a partnership with Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union which will allow members of credit unions that participate in shared branching to transact shared branch transactions at kiosks overseas.

Members of the $1.16 billion Service Credit Union, headquartered in Portsmouth, N.H. are the first able to use the new service by conducting transactions, including making scanned deposits, with kiosks in Ramstein, Germany.

Bonnie Kramer, executive vice president with FSCC, said the network was the first shared branch network to launch shared branch kiosks overseas.

“Through the FSCC interface, Service Credit Union is able to connect to their members in an on-line real-time mode,” she said. “Guest members are also allowed to access their credit union accounts at the kiosks–as long as a credit union participates in shared branching, it can utilize this channel to transmit deposits electronically.”

Kramer estimated that deposits and payments by check represent approximately 80% of the dollar volume processed through the network's kiosks. She believes that consumers regularly utilize self-service branches. Kramer also foresees Check 21 kiosk deployments growing rapidly in 2008 and becoming a prevalent part of many credit union business resumption plans.
