WASHINGTON — The House Financial Services Committee will notconfirm it, but CUNA and other sources familiar with the committeeare confident that the committee has planned a hearing on theCommunity Reinvestment Act for Feb. 13.

Committee staff said that they will not confirm hearings morethan a week in advance and warned that no hearing has yet beenscheduled, but CUNA and other sources said the hearing would betitled The Community Reinvestment Act: Thirty Years ofAccomplishments, but Challenges Remain.

Despite the lack of confirmation, CUNA CEO Dan Mica released astatement seeking to reassure CUs about the reappearance of thecontroversial topic.
