WESTBROOK, Maine. — Synergent, a payments processing affiliateof the Maine Credit Union League, has announced a deal to providethe ability to offer card processing services to participatingCUs.

The organization struck the deal with PowerPay, an electronicpayments firm, to be able to provide the service which Synergentsaid would include credit card, electronic payment, gift andloyalty card programs.

“PowerPay will bring our credit union partners a valuable newservice through a single point of contact,” said John Murphy, CEOof Synergent. “Credit unions are ready to offer their memberbusiness accounts a complete payment processing solution.”

Rebekah Higgins, Card Services Manager, detailed some of theunique benefits that the relationship with PowerPay will offer tocredit unions.

“PowerPay enables merchants to maximize their payment processingefficiency, security and investment through a consultativeapproach, custom-fit solutions and 24/7 customer service. PowerPayservices include: payment acceptance; credit, debit, loyalty andgift cards; business-to-business and government purchasing cards;petroleum cards; electronic check verification; and standard,high-speed and wireless point-of-sale (POS) solutions.”
