WASHINGTON — CUNA CEO Dan Mica warned against excessive partisanship on Capitol Hill in this election year, but still expressed optimism that election year battles and a shortened time clock will not keep Congress from getting anything done.

“The year could be tougher than it needs to be, if members decide not to work together and instead pursue a strictly us-versus-them agenda,” Mica wrote in a column which appeared in the Jan. 23 The Hill newspaper, a publication which serves the legislative community. “Partisanship will simply lead to gridlock, and little will be accomplished,” he added.
