CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — First Community Credit Union recently raised nearly $1,200 towards the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial campaign through a corporate dress down day.
The $1 billion credit union said it matched the funds raised by its employees, bringing the total to nearly $2,400.
The Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation (www.mlkmemorial.org) is currently raising $100 million towards the building of the memorial and center on the National Mall in Washington that will feature King's life and accomplishments. To date, the foundation has raised more than $84 million. The memorial is scheduled to be completed in 2009.
