St. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Another credit union has opted to bring its credit card and debit card processing together with the same processor, citing the streamlined card management and improved fraud management that the move provides.
Stanford Federal Credit Union of Palo Alto, Calif., is the CU and the move brings its 19,000 signature and PIN debit and 8,500 ATM-only accounts to PSCU Financial Services, a major payment and card processing CUSO. The credit union also renewed its processing contract for 11,000 credit accounts with the cooperative. The credit union has 47,000 members and $836 million in assets, PSCU said.
Stanford is the latest credit union to have decided to stop processing its credit and debit card with separate vendors, choosing instead to build on the increased fraud protection.
The credit union will gain several advantages from having a single service provider for all three platforms, according to Keith Troup, vice president for Stanford FCU. “Partnering with PSCU Financial Services delivers an excellent value for our credit union and superior contact center support for our members. We appreciate the cooperative's consultative services and industry knowledge and our ability to continue to offer a surcharge-free ATM network to our members.”
The credit union will also benefit from the cooperative's relationship pricing, which provides financial incentives for expanding the number of relationships serviced by PSCU.
