PHOENIX– Desert Schools Federal Credit Union has promoted Media Spokesperson/Public Relations Manager Jason Meyers to director of marketing and public relations.
Hired just over a year ago, Meyers was the first person to officially hold the PR position at the credit union.
In his new role, Meyers will continue to manage day-to-day public relations activities with additional oversight in the areas of creative development, branding, research and targeted campaigns. He reports to Cathy Graham, assistant vice president of marketing, a 16-year veteran in the credit union industry.

"Jason brings many years of marketing and public relations experience to the position at a time when Desert Schools is poised for additional growth. Building relationships with reporters, fostering collaboration among our teams and maximizing our marketing dollars are just a few of the ways he will help Desert Schools build on its success," said Graham.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Meyers' career includes posts as director of marketing communications at the Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix as well as senior copy editor of marketing and creative services at Gannett-owned The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com.
Prior to that, he spent more than a decade in the radio industry in Phoenix, Tucson and San Diego as a production director and Top 40 on-air personality.
"What really attracted me to the credit union industry in general was its mission-focused, not-for-profit philosophy. But it also has a corporate atmosphere, which I enjoy, and the resources to get things done," said Meyers. "I am looking forward to serving Desert Schools Federal Credit Union into the next decade."
Meyers is also a 2004 graduate of the Phoenix FBI Citizens' Academy and volunteers as a public speaker for the Arizona Anti-Defamation League.
