MADISON, Wis.- The World Council of Credit Unions has programs to help local credit unions in Kenya, and those programs and their staff are safe and "lying low," according to a WOCCU official.
Mike Muckian, communications manager for WOCCU said that the international credit union organization has one paid staff member on the ground in Kenya and numerous volunteers with different credit unions, but that so far none of the CUs or staff had been damaged in the post election violence that is currently rocking the normally stable African nation.
