PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon's largest credit union spent a three-day weekend recently converting to a new, in-house core processing system.
OnPoint Community CU is now running on the XP2 platform from XP Systems.
The transition was smoothed by XP Systems staff helping with custom learning plans for each job position at the $2.5 billion CU and a blend of e-learning, classroom training and hands-on practice, the company and CU say.
"Having the practice system loaded with our database and having practice PCs at each branch made a huge impact," says Rob Stuart, OnPoint's president and CEO.
The conversion was the Fiserv unit's second involving a billion-dollar credit union in recent days, following on the heels of a similar project across the country at $3.9 billion Digital Federal Credit Union in Massachusetts. DCU, however, switched platforms from a competing core processor, Open Solutions, while OnPoint replaced an older XP Systems platform.
