MADISON, Wis. — Larry Halverson, one of the key players at MEMBERS Capital Advisors, will retire at the end of 2007 after 20 years of service.

Halverson is MCA's managing director of equities and first came to CUNA Mutual Group's investment advisor affiliate in 1987. He is considered by many in the industry to be one of the go-to guys when it comes to investment trends and nuances impacting the credit union industry. His other roles include vice president of the Ultra Series Fund, one of MCA's nine mutual funds and providing investment direction for MCA's separately managed accounts and investment advisory services to MEMBERS Trust Company.

Halverson, 62, said he's retiring now "to do some other things while I still can."

"I feel as though I've worked for three different companies in the last 20 years because of the dramatically difference in administrations of the three CEOs," Halverson said. "But CUNA Mutual Group is now stronger and better run than ever before."

While Halverson said he plans to spend more time with his family at their cottage on Washington Island in northern Wisconsin, he'll also keep busy working part-time with a former associate of 25 years to develop a diversified investment service that independent financial advisors
