HOBOKEN, N.J. — Thomas Greve has been named the new publisher of Credit Union Times, and will start in the role on Jan. 7.

Greve has been in his current role as American Institute of Certified Public Accountants director of the direct sales team and associate publisher since 2002.

"I've been doing the publisher job for the AICPA for nearly eight years," Greve said. "Credit Union Times is a terrific publication and becoming publisher for such a magazine is something I wanted to tackle."

Greve joined the AICPA as publication sales manager in May 2000. He has managed advertising for the Journal of Accountancy and Tax Adviser. He also created an e-News team in 2002 and launched the first, and now largest, e-newsletter catalog in the accounting profession. Together with the marketing team, Greve developed significant product and services brand awareness through campaigns for advertising, conference sales and professional development teams with the AICPA Media and AICPA Learning brands.

Greve leaves the AICPA as they are re-locating their headquarters to Durham, North Carolina. "My roots are in New Jersey and New York and I wanted to stay here," he said.

Previously, Greve was director of sales for the Schnell Publishing Company in lower Manhattan. At Schnell, he played a key role in developing the first virtual tradeshow in the process chemical industries, which became the top online resource for chemical industry news, product sourcing and pricing information.

Prior to that, Greve managed business development for the North Jersey Chapter of the March of Dimes in a fundraising capacity.

Looking ahead, at his role at Credit Union Times Greve's said "expanding circulation is always something publishers are looking to do."
