LUTHERVILLE, Md. — First Financial of Maryland Federal Credit Union has opened the doors to its second student-run branch.
Located at Lansdowne High School, the Viking Branch named after the school mascot, is open for business Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during lunch hours. Run by eight student interns from the junior and senior class and a faculty advisor, the branch gives high school students real-world job experience, access to financial services during the school day, as well as important lessons about personal financial management.
"This initiative is simply a great opportunity for the student interns to gain professional work experience and learn important financial lessons," said First Financial FCU President/CEO Rob Windsor.
