TALLAHASSEE Fla. — Credit Union 24 the nationwide credit union owned ATM and point of sale debit network headquartered in Florida has announced a deal which will provide members of its participating credit unions with surcharge free access to 45,000 ATMs nationwide, the network has announced.

The deal is with Allpoint Network is a subsidiary of Cardtronics, the largest independent ATM deployer in the country. Allpoint charges a fee to participating financial institutions in exchange for allowing their enrolled card base surcharge free access to its ATMs, but in this agreement credit unions which participate in a "premium" version of Credit Union 24′s CU HERE surcharge free program will not have to conduct additional negotiations with Allpoint, Credit Union 24 said.

"ATM surcharges have increased steadily over the past 10 years and we feel it's important that credit unions have control and self-determination over an important financial issue, for the benefit of both the credit unions and their members," said Jim Park, Credit Union 24 President & CEO. "This will enable our participating credit unions to offer their members national surcharge-free reach and expand their own markets–while continuing to provide the benefits and economy of credit union membership."
