TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The agreement between Cardtronic's Allpoint Network and Credit Union 24 has moved Credit Union 24 into the lead position, in terms of the shear numbers of ATMs, in providing credit union members with surcharge free access to their cash.

Although never the same defining aspect of their program in the way that it is at rival CO-OP Financial Services, Credit Union 24 has long had a surcharge free option called CU HERE. CU HERE provides surcharge free access participating credit unions' ATMs, as well as to machines in Publix Supermarkets with MoneyPass Network locations, many in the Southeast part of the U.S. where Credit Union 24 began.

Credit Union 24 CEO Jim Park said the CU HERE program had garnered 400 of the network's 500 participating members over the years who had a network of roughly 15,000 participating surcharge free ATMs. The agreement with Allpoint more than triples that number to more than 45,000 and gives Credit Union 24 additional strength in states where it did not as much of a presence, Park explained.
