LAKE MARY, Fla. — In an effort to dispel some common consumer misconceptions about credit unions, CFE Federal Credit Union spearheaded the launch of a cooperative public education campaign for the Central Florida Chapter of Credit Unions.

Nineteen central Florida credit unions joined financial resources totaling over $61,000 for a radio advertising campaign to increase public awareness of the benefits of choosing a credit union as their primary financial institution.

Targeting adults age 18-54, the aggressive five-week campaign highlighted the benefits of being a member rather than a "customer" including enjoying high rate savings and low cost loans. In addition, credit unions showcased the every day "people helping people" difference through various fun educational events.
