CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Speaking at one of NCUA's Small Credit UnionWorkshops, Vice Chairman Rodney Hood announced that he planned tohold a second Risk Mitigation Summit next year in Charlotte,N.C.

“I look forward to hosting a summit in 2008 focused upon riskmitigation for small credit unions,” Hood stated. “I have been aleading advocate for credit unions to adopt the most current andsophisticated risk mitigation techniques. I realize this is easierto do for larger credit unions, which have more resources.”

“Credit unions are making a positive impact on their surroundingcommunities, but constant advancement does not happen withoutstrong leadership, vision and commitment,” he added. As industriesgrow and technology advances, credit unions must be prepared tomeet such constant progress, the vice chairman said. Communicationand collaboration are essential to success in the fluid financialservices marketplace.
