PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — The $1.1 billion Service Credit Union, whose field of membership includes many members of the armed services stationed overseas, has presented $2,000 in prepaid debit cards to military families who are staying at a facility for military families in Germany.
The Fisher House serves families of military and other U.S. personnel who are receiving treatment at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at Landstuhl, Germany. The credit union said the cards are in increments of $50 and are issued through the Armed Forces Financial Network and can be used wherever AFFN is accepted at point of sale. The cards are meant to help family members of injured service members under care at the facility to help make ends meet during the December holidays this year.
The CU also said that 38 Fisher Houses worldwide will receive 760 AFFN "Thank You" Cards, valued at $38,000.00 this year. Each Fisher House will receive $1,000.00 in AFFN "Thank You" Cards, including nine off-base locations at VA Medical Centers.

Service Credit Union has also been a strong supporter of the Fisher House, making financial contributions through AFFN's matching program.
"Both Fisher House and AFFN are dedicated to serving our military, just as we do. We are very pleased to be a part of this presentation," said Gordon Simmons, president/CEO of Service Credit Union.
