MANCHESTER, N.H. — New Hampshire Federal Credit Union of Concord recently sponsored the CU 4 Reality Financial Literacy Fair held at America's Credit Union Museum.

Eighth grade students from the Rundlett Middle School in Concord, N.H. participated in the fair, where they learned how to budget their earnings for the career of their choosing.

The students were following a curriculum taught to them in their math class. They chose a profession and did some research on that profession, then found out what their salary would be and had to budget out their life based on that. At the fair, they had to make decisions on which house to buy/rent, what cable package to get, how much to spend on groceries, whether or not they could afford a big-screen TV, etc. They would travel to the different booths throughout the day.
