KENT, Ohio — Kent Credit Union has a new CEO in former Community United Credit Union CEO Joseph D. Crawfis.

"I am very excited to be on board with Kent Credit Union. KCU has a fine reputation in both the credit union and business communities, and I have been very welcomed by the KCU board and staff. I look forward to bringing new ideas and a renewed spirit to Kent Credit Union," said Crawfis. "With the help of the management team and the staff, we will continue to grow Kent Credit Union and look for new, innovative ways to enhance excellence in member service. I look forward to personally meeting our members and getting to know them."

Crawfis began his career with credit unions in 1996 at the Kent State Student Credit Union and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kent State University in May 2000.

Named Community United CU CEO upon graduation, under his leadership the credit union grew from $4 million in assets with one location to over $12 million in assets and two branch locations.

He has been active in the credit union movement, including serving on the Cleveland Chapter Youth Involvement Committee, the Cleveland Chapter board of directors, and the Ohio Credit Union League Small CU Success Task Force.
