WASHINGTON — Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has joined the House Financial Services Committee, Ranking Member Spencer Bachus recently announced.
"Being selected to serve on the Financial Services Committee is a tremendous opportunity and I look forward to crafting new and innovative ideas to help Americans realize their dreams," McCarthy said. "The Committee's jurisdiction over our housing and banking services offers a great way to help America's innovators and families."
McCarthy replaces the recently deceased Paul Gillmor (R-Pa.) and will serve on the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, Housing and Community Opportunity, and Oversight and Investigations subcommittees.
McCarthy, a freshman representative, previously served in the California State Assembly.
