DES MOINES, Iowa — An employee from The Members Group will be driving away in a BMW Z4 Roadster for the next year as the grand prize of the Talent Pool Initiative drawing.
This past July, TMG launched its Talent Pool Initiative, an employee initiative designed to create a pool of talented individuals that the company can select from when there are hiring needs. Current employees are encouraged to recommend candidates to human resources for screening. If there is not an immediate fit, but there may be an opportunity in the future for employment at TMG, that candidate is placed into the talent pool.
"We have found the best resource for finding great talent is our own employees," said Carrie Kompelien, senior human resources specialist. "They are great spokespeople for the company and rewarding them for their recruitment efforts has helped us tremendously in finding

the right person for each
job opening."
Employees who recruit a candidate receive a gift certificate for lunch. If an employee refers three candidates, they receive a free dinner and a movie for two. Each time an employee recruits someone that is hired, the employee is placed in a quarterly drawing for prizes such as ATIRAgiftSM cards, a Visa branded gift card offered by TMG. They are also entered into a drawing to win a BMW Z4 Roadster for a year.
Since TMG's Talent Pool Initiative was established, 27 employees have referred 35 candidates and 10 positions have been filled. Ten employees have earned the opportunity to receive a key that may start the BMW Z4 Roadster prize.
"The program has gone so well that we upgraded the vehicle from a Pontiac Solstice to a BMW Z4 Roadster," said Kompelien. "Our employees made this program successful and we wanted to reward them for their recruiting efforts."
