WASHINGTON — When it comes to financial literacy credit unionshave an opportunity to be the resource consumers turn to forhelp.

CUNA is launching an industry-wide survey to determine whatlevel of commitment already exists among credit unions for the goalof empowering members through financial literacy.

Part of CUNA's “Long-Term Strategic Plan to Empower Members byImproving Financial Literacy”, the survey targets credit union CEOsand asks questions ranging from what kinds of financial educationare available for adult and youth members, to barriers faced inmember education efforts and what staff and monetary resources aredevoted to member education.
