fiVISION First to Integrate with XP Systems Development Suite

INDIANAPOLIS — fiVISION says its CRM and account-opening solutions are the first third-party products to be certified for integration with core processor XP Systems' APEX Suite, the companies say.

That opens up XP Systems' client base of about 300 credit unions to the memberWORKS suite from fiVISION, the companies say.

XP Systems' certification of the memberWORKS interface "means that credit unions can be confident that the companies have worked jointly to ensure their respective systems deliver enhanced member service and create additional value," the companies say.

"The XP2 APEX Suite provides a window into the core system for third-party products to leverage and enhance our platform. We are pleased to have fiVISION's products as an option for our clients," says John Edwards, president of XP Systems, a Fiserv unit in Moorpark, Calif.

"Being the first vendor in the nation to interface with XP2 through the APEX Suite is huge for us," says Mike Winter, president of fiVISION, an Indianapolis-based CUSO. "These credit unions can now leverage the enhanced operating efficiencies, cross-selling capabilities, member service tools, and account creation ability that memberWORKS provides our current clientele."

Jack Henry & Associates to Re-Sell LifeLock Identity Theft Prevention

MONETT, Mo. — Jack Henry & Associates says it will be marketing the identity theft protection products of LifeLock to its thousands of credit union and bank customers.

Arizona-based LifeLock provides a $1 million guarantee that its services render a consumer's personal information useless to potential thieves. The company maintains active fraud alerts at the major credit reporting agencies, prompting creditors to obtain authorization for new lines of credit or credit file changes that could lead to identity theft.

A subscription also includes comprehensive identity restoration services that cover any known type of financial or non-financial identity theft, the company says, and removes subscribes from junk mail lists and pre-approved credit card offers.

The company also says it offers the nation's only identity theft prevention program for children.

"We offer a strong suite of solutions that enable our financial institution clients to mitigate and manage operational and financial risks. LifeLock provides consumers with guaranteed protection against identity theft, and as a result, peace of mind," says Debbie Wood, general manager of marketing and strategic initiatives for Jack Henry & Associates.

"LifeLock's service will generate recurring revenue for our bank and credit union clients, and will enhance goodwill among their customers and members," Wood says.

Ohio Hospital FCU Deploys OnBase

DUBLIN, Ohio — Ohio HealthCare Federal Credit Union is now using the OnBase enterprise content management suite from Hyland Software, the company and credit union say.

The $32 million CU is integrating the system across its three hospital branches and with its UltraData core system to scan, index and archive documents such as new member and loan applications.

Prior to the deployment, members would visit a branch

to initiate a week-long paper process.

"Over the last eight years, we began upgrading our internal systems, and it became clear that imaging and document management were key components to providing the level of member service required to be a serious player and avoid the merger list," said Bill Butler, the CU's president and CEO.

There now are about 370 credit unions using the OnBase system, according to Cleveland-based Hyland Software.

Passageways Acquires Houston-Based Intranet Business

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Passageways has increased its customer base by two thirds with the acquisition of the intranet operations of Engineered Business Solutions.

Houston-based EBS has 66 clients using its Instant Intranet Builder, including $284 million San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union and $947 million Trumark Financial CU in Philadelphia.

"Similar to our purchase of Extreme Arts and Sciences' 30-customer intranet business in 2004, this acquisition helps Passageways gain a larger market share of portal users in the financial services industry," says Paroon Chadha, co-founder and vice president of Passageways, which launched in 2003 as a CUSO of Purdue Employees FCU.

EBS's IBB offering enables organizations to create and manage departmental or enterprise intranets. They now will be supported by Passageways.

EBS says it will continue to operate its IT services business at www.ebsit.com.

"The synergies between EBS's Instant Internet Builder and the Passageways Corporate Portal Framework will provide our customers with enhanced automated management for business-related tasks," says Neil Anderson, CEO of EBS.
