LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich. — As Michigan continues to grapple with auto industry losses and looming strikes, experts from across the state will gather next month to offer suggestions to residents on weathering the state's economic storm.
Michael Poulos, president/CEO of $475 million Michigan First Credit Union, will be a guest speaker on a panel sponsored by the Southfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Titled "Surviving in the Present Michigan Economy," the Oct. 15 session at the Westin Hotel-Southfield will feature several guests offering suggestions and survival strategies in dealing with the state's troubled economy.
Others on the panel will include Jonathan Liebman, president of Specs Howard School of Broadcasting; Alan McCord, executive director of Lawrence Technological University Online Services; Robert Hoban, senior vice president of strategy at St. John Health System; and Joe Berwanger, vice president and general manager of Comcast Spotlight Michigan.

According to the chamber, Michigan First and the four companies were chosen because they "are considered successful in today's economy" and will share what challenges they've faced.
