ST. LOUIS — Add Fiserv Inc., Schmitt Sussman Enterprise (PFP) and Financial Services COOP Inc. to the list of industry vendors that have donated to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project.
Fiserv has donated $10,000, SSE has contributed $5,000 and Financial Services COOP has donated $2,500 to the memorial, according to Hubert Hoosman, funding chair and treasurer for the African-American Credit Union Coalition, which has been encouraging the credit union industry to raise $2 million towards the memorial's $100 million goal.
According to the latest figures from the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project, the memorial, scheduled to be complete in 2009, is nearly $20 million away from its goal. Hoosman said as of Friday, $1,003,717.42 has been pledged and $874,842.82 has actually been donated from within the credit union industry.

The memorial will be the first on the National Mall in Washington to honor an African-American.
