MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — In conjunction with Dunebrook's fifth annual graduation ceremony, Members Advantage Credit Union recently hosted its first IdentiChild community event.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the successful completion of the Healthy Families and Parents as Teachers programs of Dunebrook. The programs offer home visiting services to families with children between ages zero and five such as developmentally aged appropriate curriculum and parental support. Once the children turn five and are ready to enter kindergarten, they participate in graduation.

The IdentiChild volunteers were able to photograph and fingerprint over two hundred children at the ceremony. Sponsored by Members Advantage Credit Union, IdentiChild is a free identification program that records important information including height, weight and a color photograph. Parents retain this information in a convenient card to be used in an emergency should a child ever go missing.

"Having the chance to offer such a valuable service to our families was a great opportunity. We thank Members Advantage and Identichild, for making sure that the children of our community are safe," said Brandi Lewis, home visitation program manager at Dunebrook.

To make the event a reality Members Advantage CU tapped community sponsors including the Michigan City Police Department, Lake County Sheriff's Office, Morse & Company Advertising, Inc., Saint Anthony Memorial, and Foster Printing Service, Inc.
