PHOENIX — When it comes to raising money for kids, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union is right on top.

According to the 2006 rankings, released by Joe Dearborn, managing director of the Credit Unions for Kids program, Desert Schools ranked first for funds raised for Children's Miracle Network.

The top five Children's Miracle Network fundraising credit unions for 2006 are as follows:

Children's Miracle Network continues to be the charity of choice for America's credit unions. Through the innovative Credit Unions for Kids program, credit unions around the nation engage in raising funds to benefit their local communities. More than 45 state credit unions and credit union trade associations make a difference in the lives of children through the Credit Unions for Kids program.

During the past 10 years, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union has raised more than $1 million for Phoenix Children's Hospital's "One Darn Cool School" program. Last spring the credit union's golf tournament raised $175,000 for the hospital in just one day–

representing one of the largest amounts raised in a single day for a credit union.

By the end of 2007, Desert Schools expects to raise more than $300,000 for Children's Miracle Network.
