DES MOINES, Iowa — Long-time consultant, Jan Dietzenbach has retired after 17 years of service to the Iowa Credit Union League.
Joining the Iowa CUL in 1990 as a management consultant, Dietzenbach has helped many Iowa credit unions with succession planning, human resources issues, and strategic planning initiatives.
"Jan has been an excellent resource and confidant for so many Iowa credit unions," said Iowa CUL CEO Patrick S. Jury. "Her knowledge of the credit union industry and trends has made her invaluable to our member credit unions and we are proud of all that she has accomplished."

Dietzenbach has also traveled overseas to lend a helping hand. As a Development Educator, she traveled to Africa to work on assignment with the World Council and the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations to develop a strategic marketing plan for their Africa 2000 project. Since then, she has earned her certification as a Certified Credit Union Executive and has also traveled to Panama City to work with COFEP, the Panamanian credit union trade organization, as part of the League's "People Helping People" partnership.
As a founding board member for the Iowa Credit Union Foundation, Dietzenbach was instrumental in developing and implementing the Foundation's mission and vision of promoting consumer financial education and perpetuating the credit union community. Most recently, she has worked with the Iowa Disability Group as the contact for Smart Start.
Smart Start is a pilot project in the Mason City and the Story county school district with a goal to assist youth with disabilities to be able to handle their own finances and paying for services that meet their disability needs. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.
