WARREN, OHIO — Seven Seventeen Credit Union recently hosted the first-ever Teachers Academy, an initiative of State Treasurer Richard Cordray's office.
The Academies provided a two-day training session for any teacher in Ohio who plans to introduce personal finance education into their classroom, or for those who may have already begun doing so. These sessions were to prepare educators for the new curriculum taking effect in 2010.
Shirley June Wittenauer of the credit union's marketing department provided teachers with an overview of the National Endowment for Financial Education materials.
