ARLINGTON, Va. — NASCUS Chairman Linda Jekel (Wash.) announced that she has appointed Suzanne Cowan, director of the Wisconsin Office of Credit Unions, to the NASCUS Board of Directors.
Cowan will fill the unexpired one-year term of Ken Roberts (Ohio) who resigned from the board earlier this year due to changes at the agency. She has also been nominated to a full three-year term that would begin August 2007.
Cowan was appointed to serve at the Wisconsin regulator by Governor Jim Doyle in October 2003. Before that, she was the president of WEA Credit Union in Madison for 25 years.

"I am delighted to be appointed to the NASCUS Board," Cowan said. "My background is an interesting combination of long experience running a credit union and a relatively recent transition to the regulatory side. I intend to use this appointment to learn all I can from my fellow board members and I hope I can be helpful to them, as well."
