RICHLAND, Wash. — The $650 million Gesa Credit Union has named Christina Brown its new president/CEO.

With over 14 years of credit union experience, the former Xerox Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations will oversee all aspects of Gesa CU's financial, lending, member service, human resources, marketing, communications and operations. Gesa serves 80,000 members.

"The addition of Christina to our team is yet another step towards continued growth at the credit union," said Robert Heineman, Gesa CU chairman. "Her extensive background and proven abilities working within the credit union industry will be an incredible asset to our institution."

An active member of multiple CUNA committees, Brown helped national membership in the CUNA CFO Council's Executive Committee jump to 600 members while serving as the vice chairperson. Additionally, she has presented at numerous educational seminars detailing new and innovative ways to increase the effectiveness of credit union staff and volunteers to benefit member service.

Brown implemented a number of strategic initiatives designed to increase member services offered by Xerox FCU and improve overall efficiency for the organization. She helped to create an investment portfolio that consistently outperforms peers and which added positively to members' capital. In 2006 Brown led a team effort for successful execution of a core system conversion, resulting in improved internal and member-focused credit union technology that enabled the credit union to quickly adapt to changing member demands for new products and services. Brown's work to implement a competitive portfolio and new conversion technology was a substantial contribution to overall member value and service at the credit union.
