PORTLAND, Ore. — Northwest Corporate Federal Credit Union will be going directly to Symitar for its core processing, the organizations say.

The billion-dollar corporate has been processing on a Symitar Episys platform for more than two years through U.S. Central Credit Union, but decided to strike out on its own when U.S. Central announced last summer it would phase out the service it was offering to 18 corporates by 2009.

"Symitar has customized its traditional service bureau offering to support the unique processing requirements of corporate credit unions, and Northwest Corporate Federal Credit Union is very satisfied with the service levels we consistently receive," says Kathy Garner, Northwest Corporate's president/CEO.

Northwest Corporate, which serves about 200 credit unions, joins another U.S.

Central client, Wisconsin-based Corporate Central, in announcing a move to Symitar so far this year.

"We hope that the other corporate credit unions evaluating a data processing alternative to the Episys-based service bureau that U.S. Central provided will select us to support their near- and long-term technology requirements," says Kathy Hooker Burress, president of Symitar, which now serves more than 600 credit unions.
